  • Dang that's to bad bout Roy, he's an ace man. Glad God spared him for now.

He is a world traveller for sure. I've seen vids on youtube of him all over Europe playin festivals etc.

    Probably wore himself out.

  • From less complicated times.

Really like those parlour guitars after seeing Roy Rogers footage, and started out with an Ami Art & Lutherie maybe under a decade now.  Have since added many more guitars to the collection thanks to the iNet, but couldn't bear to part with it. So light and punches well above it's weight. Phos bronze and cedar working so well togther.

No Dobro though, but tune a Weissenborn down with lighter strings, a step below high G, also having a capo made.

Just had a look at Roy R's hompage and see that he is alive and well after returning from Ottawa Blues Festival and Tremblant Blues festivals up in Canada. After a heart scare in June.

On June 12th, at Saturday nights benefit concert in Guerneville (Sonoma County, California) after the power went out during the show, Roy Rogers suffered severe chest pain and was taken by ambulance to Sutter Hospital in Santa Rosa.  A quick on their feet Emergency Team & Cardiology unit assessed the pain, diagnosed and treated a mild heart attack.  A stint was inserted quickly and he is now resting and recovering well.

“God pulled the plug on the power so that he wouldn’t have to pull the plug on you,” said long time fan and co-writer Donna Johnston.
As the Doctors told Roy  - “It wasn’t your time.”
